The NCALNE support section includes prompt questions that are designed to help users engage with and process the support materials on the site. Spaces are provided for users to type their reflective answers on the site and these will be saved in their personal learning space area if they are registered and logged in.

These questions and activities are not unit standard 21204 assessment activities. Assessment of US21204 requires learners to apply their knowledge about literacy and numeracy education to their particular contexts by planning and implementing learning programmes that are specific to their learners and their training programmes. The support materials on this site and any accompanying reflective activities are designed to provide and direct learners to theoretical knowledge, definitions and background information relevant to an embedded approach to literacy and numeracy education. NCALNE candidates or potential candidates wishing to achieve US21204 need to assimilate the theoretical information and practical examples provided on this site into their own practice and provide evidence of doing so to an accredited provider. Providers will have their own moderated assessment tasks and/or RPL criteria that candidates must complete.

By engaging with the reflective activities on this site, users can potentially increase their depth of understanding of the attributes of effective embedded literacy and numeracy education. The activities are designed to prompt users to think about how the material presented applies to, or is related to, their own work. As such, a particular resource or activity may feed into learners overall understanding and thereby support them to achieve several performance criteria. But the activities, in general, are not designed to assess (ie provide evidence of) any one particular criteria.
